Safeguarding Awareness (1 - 11/2 hours)
What is Safeguarding and Child Protection,

How to find out more for your own region.
The course will be delivered in an interactive format, referring to the companies own safeguarding policies and procedures.
Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and associated challenges for learners
Introduction to SEND (1 Hour)
Brief overview of what Autism, ADHD, LD, HI, VI Downs Syndrome can mean.
What SEND means
The key points of legislation regarding SEND
The potential impact of SEND on a family, and how families can be supported

Introduction to SEND ( 2 Hours)
Learning outcomes include an increased understanding of:

• Key principles for working with students with SEND, with a focus on:

Co-production/ personalisation
Advocacy
• Key processes which support students with SEND, with a focus on:
Education, Health and Care Plans
Roles and responsibilities in a multidisciplinary team
The local offer and how students and their families can access it.
Sensory Integration
Sensory Integration Awareness (1 hour)
What are our senses?
How do our senses impact upon us.
What challenges may present linked to sensory integration.
Links to zones of regulation and 5 point scale.
Creating a sensory passport.
Supporting students who require support with sensory differences.
Positive Behaviour Approaches
An introduction to Positive Behaviour ( 1 hour)
Developing Awareness of Positive Behaviour (2 hours)
Bespoke behaviour courses integrally linked to the settings behaviour policies (1/2 or full day)
High Quality Teaching for all with a focus on SEND learners.
To be run over multiple sessions - or as an introduction.
Works best as project based across a longer time frame.
Based on guidance from the EEF - '5 a day'.
Focus on:
- Metacognition
- Explicit Instruction
- Scaffolding
- Flexible Grouping
- Use if ICT
6 hours over 6 weeks.
Can be concurrent or spread out to allow for development.
